Energy Sector Rising

The energy Sector seems to be rising quite handsomely. The sector is up 1.35%, and the closest sector Capital Goods is far down at .93%. Rise in Oil price definitely seems to help Energy Corporations. The price of Oil rose to a $1 a barrel today, after Wall Street Journal reported that Saudi Arabia would cut Oil supply by 158,000 barrels a day effective Feb. 1. Biggest performers in the energy Sector include GeoGlobal Resources Inc., Parallel Petroleum Corp., Natco Group Inc., Bolt Technology Corp., and Weatherford Intl Ltd.


NATCO Group stock rose to $2.30, a 7% increase. The company's stock opened at $33.20 and went up as high as $35.18, before settling at $35.15 as of 2:17PM EST. NATCO's stock has risen steadily from its low in January 10, when it was trading at $28.36.

Weatherford International reported earnings of 78 cents a share, compared to 69 cents a share in the year-earlier period. Weatherford International revenues rose by 24% to $1.81 billion. The company beat analyst expectations, as it was expected to earn 73 cents a share against its reported earnings of 78 cents a share. Weatherford International Ltd. stock is currently trading at $40.04. The company's stock opened at $38.88 and is up by $2.30, a 6.12% increase. The stock closed at $37.74 yesterday.
