Ford - Built ToughFord Motor Company Shares

I have been meaning to write about Ford Motor Company's stock for a while but never got the chance. I remember last year when Ford was trading at $1, I thought what a steal, but given the economic conditions at the time and the fact that the GM and Chrysler were literally begging to get bailed out I didn't know what future Ford Motor Company held.

This article will basically discuss the history of Ford Stock, any dividends if any, along with who the key institutional buyers are, outstanding shares, and performance of competitors.

Ford Stock and the Dividends

Ford Motor Company paid dividends until the Year 2007 when it suspended paying dividends. Ford Motor Company was prohibited from paying dividends for Common and Class B Stock because of the terms of its credit agreement. The credit agreement was made in order to secure a 7 year $7 billion term-loan facility and a 5 year revolving credit of $11.5 billion. Prior to this credit agreement, Ford paid $.10 a share dividend per quarter, which was reduced to $.05 in third quarter of 2006, and the eventual abandonment of dividend payout in 2007.
