Stock Market Digest

Well, lets move on to our stock market digest. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that the forecasts analysts have made in regards to revenue from Windows Vista for fiscal 2008 were overly aggressive. Microsoft shares closed at $29.46. The stock is currently trading in after hours at $289.95, down 1.73%. Caterpillar Inc, an earthmoving equipment, rose to a four-month high on plans to repurchase $7.5 billion of its shares.

In sector news, Conglomerates, Energy, Transportation, and Utilities sectors were down. If you guys remember, Transportation Sector was the top gainers in sectors yesterday. Conglomerates sector went down by 0.51%, while Energy Sector saw a decline of 0.42%. Transportation Sector which saw a surge of 1.59% yesterday, saw a decline of 0.30% today. Basic Minerals saw the highest positive change today, followed by Capital Goods, and Consumer Non-Cyclical Sector. Basic Materials was up 0.49%, Capital Goods was up 0.45%, and Consumer Non-cyclical sector was up 0.42%.

Top Gainers in the Stock Market today are FTI Consulting Inc, NutriSystem Inc, Guess? Inc, TALX Corporation, and Brilliance China. FTI Consulting saw its stock sruge by 14.13%, and has a Market Capital of $1.38 billion. Nutrisystem, saw a surge in stock price by 13.47%.

Worst Performers today were RealNetworks (the good ol' Real Player Owner), Telenor ASA, Baker Hughes, Granite Construction, and Baidu.com. RealNetworks saw its stock drop by as much as 15.93%, while Telenor ASA saw its stock drop by 10.05%.
