Some of you may know that I operate multiple websites, each catering to a particular niche. I have been building websites since 10th grade, and I have to say that I have come quite far. One of my first major website was about “Twinkies” which was a school project. I was quite farther than other students, and lets just say I blew away my competition with fancy Flash website. Those days are long gone, and I have come to an understanding that simple, fast, and easier to navigate websites are the way to go.
Civilization 3 under indews.com was one of my first major projects outside of school. At that time I was a complete Civilization 3 fanatic, in fact, I spent over 5 hours each day playing Civilization 3 after coming from school or even more. I spent my entire 11th grade literally playing Civilization 3. I have some regrets about it, and in a way playing that game pushed me into the current field. After being so crazy fanatic of Civilization 3, I decided to start a website showcasing my obsession with the game. Slowly, my site got off, and it became quite a success. I believe after a while, I got the new of Command & Conquer being released, and I quickly decided to jump into the realm of commercialism. From making fan-site of Civilization 3, I jumped into site making solely to profit from it. I have to say that the success of Command & Conquer prompted me to open more such similar websites. I started Rise of Nations, and Age of Mythology, both happened to be disappointing. I eventually folded Age of Mythology and you can still visit Rise of Nations website, albeit there is no activity. Even though there has been no activity, the stream of viewers visiting the site never stopped. On any given day, at least 100 viewers visit Rise of Nations and Civilization 3 websites. Command & Conquer site commands over 1000 visitors on a daily basis. It is impressive if you note the fact that, there haven’t been any significant updates to the site for over a year and a half.
The jewel of Indews Gaming, indews.com itself was launched and it became a huge success and is still a success. You may be wondering why indews.com itself was launched this late. Well, the thing was that indews.com used to redirect to the Civilization 3 site, and when Command & Conquer Site was opened, it was redirected there. I didn’t know what to do with Indews.com itself, as such I just kept redirecting it to the most popular site, and in this case it was Command & Conquer. At first the site, was basically a summary of Indews Network, with links to Civilization 3, Command & Conquer with Generals and Zero Hour Franchises, and Rise of Nations. Eventually, game press releases were added and the site soon provided press releases from various publishers. I eventually felt that it was not enough, and decided to expand the main sites’ offerings. The new offerings include, Cheat Codes, Downloads, Movie Information, Technology, Rumors, and Game Reviews. At first, Movie Information became the most popular, but then it decreased and Cheat Codes offering and with Downloads became the staple of Indews Gaming. As of now, the cheat codes section and downloads section bring the greatest number of visitors to the site.
I felt that I was restricting myself by only offering gaming section, and with my interest fading from games, I decided to start Indews Blogs. Indews Blogs was the venue through which I would offer entirely new services including Financial Analysis, Political Articles, Entertainment Articles and others topics that cover broad range of ideas. I would say that Indews Blogs became a very good success. Although, I abandoned the site after a while, the site nonetheless became popular and when I restarted the site a few weeks back, the site was more than ready. Right now, the most popular sections of Indews Blogs are Financial Analysis and Political articles. For the moment we only have one financial analysis, but I am going to add at least 2-3 Financial Analysis of Corporations every day and Political articles.
