Adobe Flash on Ubuntu Linux

FlashAdobe Flash Player for Ubuntu Linux

I mentioned in the previous article that one of the big negatives of the 64 Bit Ubuntu Linux was lack of flash. Well, it appears that there is actually a solution to that but not from Adobe itself. I wanted to watch a video on Youtube (as most of you know requires Flash to be installed), now I didn't think much of clicking the link that said "installed missed plugin". I figured it would just tell me that there is no plugin or direct me to Adobe Flash website. Well, it turned out there were other third party programs that would allow me to play flash files on my Mozilla Firefox. Now, I am not sure what architecture my browser is, whether it is 64 bit or 32 bit. Regardless, I was able to install an add on that would allow me to play flash videos.

Ubuntu Flash Player Contd.

On a note, you don't see flash files automatically load, but you have click on the flash file to make them run. So, you will see a lot of sites with flash ads with a big Grey play button, asking you to play the ads!

I am not sure what the add-on was called, I just installed it blindly. On a note, I would like to say that my Operating System is Ubuntu 8.1. Once again, I would like to let everybody know that I am a total noob when it comes to Linux.
