New Cell Phone Plan
My family’s cell phone contract with SprintPCS is almost up, so we are in need of a new contract. Our current contract with Sprint is going to expire in February, and I am officially looking for a new plan. Our old mobile phone contract was for 2 years, and we will probably get another 2-year contract. Our current contract is a Fair & Flexible Family Share Plan with 3 phones. Right now my plan has “Night & Weekend Minutes” which cost me $5 monthly, Unlimited Sprint Mobile to Mobile phone calling, Nationwide Long Distance, adjustable any time minutes, 3 way calling, caller ID, call waiting, has unlimited night and weekends included, and requires that each monthly bill be at least $70 a month.
My current cellphone is a Samsung A680 phone, and is Sprint PCS Vision enabled. The phone has camera, a camcorder, text messaging, and Internet capable. At the time it came out, cell phones with a camera were a novelty, and I paid an addition $50 to get it. Now, every phone has these features in default. Text Messaging on my current plan is not free, and I pay an addition $.10 every time I use it. Unfortunately, the usages of text messaging by me and the other family members have increased dramatically and now text messages cost us over $30 additional. So, the new plan must have text messages. My list of requirements for the new contract would be unlimited text messaging on all the phones, minimum of 600 shared minutes, free weekend callings, free weekdays callings after 7, and internet possibly. I myself would like a PDA / Smartphone, and I must say, the Apple Iphone is really makes me want to go with Cingular when its released. Unfortunately, my contract expires next month. I am not sure, If I should stick with Sprint or move to a new carrier. But I am keeping all my options open. I would like most of the features with as less money as possible (just like every other customer). I think most of my other family members are OK with just regular phones, but I would love to get my hands on a PDA and Internet. I definitely think that it would make my life a lot easier. I also have a loyalty rebate thing with Sprint, where I would get $150 off of a phone for sticking with Sprint.
If you guys know any plans that are in great deals, or you are working for one of the wireless carriers J and can hook me up with a great plan, I would be more than happy to listen. So, just use the comments section to send in what to think, what I should avoid, and what is a must have feature in the cell phone. My budget is around $80 to $100 a month. You guys have to remember that this is a family share plan, with 3 phones sharing the minutes. Its’ not just me!
