I don't know how many of you guys watch stargte sg1, but I have to tell you that it is one of the best scifi shows on TV right now along with Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis, and Lost. Besides Lost, all the 3 shows are on SCIFI. So, if you have some time to kill on friday night make sure you guys watch these shows.
Before Last week it was Ethon that was aired and by far one of my favorites. Although its ratings are now discouraging. The Ratings for Ethon was 1.5 and that is not encouraging. Anyway, I am going give a brief summary, and yes there will be spoliers so be warned.
In Ethon, Senator Kane comes to earth for help against his government which is using an Ori built satellite against its arch enemy Caledonia. Since neither Caledonia and Rand Protectorate have the capability to launch anything in space, Senator Kane hoped that Earth could be of assistance. The SG1 team hatches a plan and decide to use Prometheus to destroy the satelite. Long story shot, the Prometheus(the first Earth Intergalactic ship) gets destroyed and our team along with Prometheus crew are stuck on Caledonia land. SG1 devises a way to neutralise Rand's Ori satelite and President Nadal agrees of Rand agrees to a cease fire. In the end, Nadal is assasinated by his right hand General for breaking the ceasefire.
As the superpower stories go, this one turns deadly and both nations end up destroying themselves soon after SG1 leaves.
This was probably one of the best episodes of stargate, and I was saddened by the loss of Prometheus. Although Prometheus was ugly it still occupies a special place in my heart for being the first Earth Ship.
I give this episode a 4 out of 5.
